My Story

I am fundraising for Future Sense Foundation and to go and volunteer at an elephant, cat and dog sanctuary and in a local school, providing educational workshops to under privileged children in Thailand. I will spend my first week volunteering in a hill tribe school providing various educational workshops supporting the teachers to aid the education of very under privileged children. I am very passionate about social justice and believe everyone deserves the right to a quality education no matter their gender, socio-economic status or if they have a disability. Getting to help teach these children is such an amazing opportunity as I love working with children and supporting their education. The second week I will be volunteering at an animal sanctuary that looks after elephants who have been badly mistreated in the entertainment industry in Thailand. I will also be helping to look after cats and dogs many who have suffered abuse and have life altering injuries. As someone passionate about animal welfare the opportunity to volunteer at an animal sanctuary with such wonderful animals is a dream come true.

I will be undertaking my trip with Challenges Abroad which is a not-for-profit organisation, where all money raised is put back into supporting communities in need across the world. Challenges Abroad are also a Carbon Neutral Organisation. I'm fundraising for their charity Future Sense Foundation and to help fund my trip to be able to volunteer my time in these amazing communities, with at least 50% of all money raised going straight to the charity. Future Sense Foundation’s motto is “We believe everyone has a right to quality education, basic healthcare, and opportunities for a better livelihood – all rooted in the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”
